A lot of high-class speakers, motivators, and successful business persons tell you that an Idea worth nothing without the Execution. They are right! At the same time, it is really not enough. Not even by far.
I’ve seen a lot of great ideas (especially apps, while this is my main interest) that are great ideas, they are implemented more than decent and… nothing. And it is not just about “more money”. Yes, it would always help to have more money, but not even this is what some great ideas are lacking.
Let’s state the obvious. I am not talking about four leaf clover, leprechauns, or talismans. I am referring to the fact that things need to align in the Universe so that your idea has success. If you don’t like this, then replace it with “things that you really cannot control, but that need to happen in the grand scheme of Success”.
Not the logo, not the ad campaign, not the social media. Everything. Branding activities with intent, with strategy and planning. From A to Z, and not at the same time. Many of the great ideas I meet each week, don’t have a Story, don’t tell anyone anything, they are not alive. Great apps that don’t have souls. That is NOT expensive. You’re already investing your life into your app, into your business. Just give that life to your product also.
Note: of course is not clear what is to be done. There is no to-do list because the problem with living products that have personality and character is that they need nurturing on a personal level. If you’ll read more often this blog you may find general ideas of how to create your to-do list for achieving branding.
In the case of failure, as much as possible, don’t get angry with yourself and the world. If it doesn’t happen, if it’s not successful then just be happy and aware of the Real good things in your life. It’s hard even for me and I think it’s in human nature (damn it) to forget these real important things (family, being healthy, having a roof over your head). Be thankful.
Never forget that nothing can guarantee success. Consultants, blog posts, lists, successful people, no one can guarantee your success.
